Michelle Walters

Michelle began her career with Health Insurance Shop, Inc. in 2003 as a Group client representative.  Her primary duties were to review Employee Benefit renewal plans with employers, make recommendations, and provide solutions to mitigate the rising cost of health insurance for employees.  Soon after, Michelle began presenting similar solutions to new business in an effort to broaden Health Insurance Shop's footprint in the Small Group market.

In 2007, pivotal staffing changes were made, and Michelle was named Executive Vice President.  Managing the day-to-day staffing needs and contributing to business decisions were added to her duties, all the while maintaining her role in the Group department.

In preparation for the implementation of Healthcare Reform, Michelle began working in the Individual market in 2010 and eventually added Medicare to her repertoire.  Since 2010, Michelle has met with 1000's of individuals to assist them in choosing a health insurance plan that works best for their healthcare needs and budget.

Over the years, Michelle has advanced her skills by completing multiple certifications/designations.  These include:  Licensed Property & Casualty Agent (P&C); Professional in Human Resources (PHR); Certified Personal Trainer (CPT); Certified Marketplace Specialist (CMS); Registered Social Security Analysist (RSSA).

Michelle is married to the love of her life, and the proud parent of two (2) United States Airman.  She is also the human "mom" to four (4) Beagles; six (6) cats (including one Maine Coon and one Ragdoll); and one (1) leopard gecko.  Michelle enjoys planting obstacles for her husband to mow around (ha ha!), gardening, and beekeeping.  

Since 2017, Michelle has been learning Songahm Taekwondo, and currently holds the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt.  She has competed in many regional, district, and national tournaments and has earned dozens of awards and medals.  Her hope is to one day come home with a World Title (fingers crossed).
